Using Surrender Tips

The blackjack surrender strategy is a great way for players to get themselves out of sticky situations, but it is only allowed in a few casinos and not many players are sure about how to use it correctly. The following tips will help any player use the surrender rule like a pro.

What is Surrender?

Surrender is a rule that can be used to allow a player to essentially fold their hands after the first round of cards has been dealt without forfeiting their entire wager amount葉hey are able to retain half. This method should only be used after the dealer has checked for blackjack in order for it to truly work in favor of the player. It is a fantastic way for players to avoid playing through a less-than-desirable hand or folding right off the bat.

Things to Consider

A player can surrender in three very specific situations. When a player has a hand that totals 15, 16 or 17 and the dealer is forced to stand on a soft 17 in a single deck game, the player will benefit from the surrender. Also, when the dealer is forced to hit on a soft 17 in a single deck game, players will surrender with a hand of 15, 16 or 17 as well, but only when the dealer is showing an Ace. Finally, when the dealer is forced to stand on a soft 17 in a multi-deck game, the player should surrender a hand of 15 and the dealer is showing a card with a value of 10.

All in all, the surrender rule can certainly help players avoid losing tons of money when it is used correctly and in the proper situations. Since not every casino observes this rule, players are asked to find out on their own and implement a surrender based upon house rules wherever it is allowed.
